| Myra Kozlowski, Dorothy Kolomeisky and William Haines pioneered the first character education program in the former Soviet Union through the International Educational Foundation, establishing a global team of teachers, professors and administrators. Together they created a series of character education textbooks for middle and high school students, materials for teachers and parents, and to facilitate the use of these resources, they designed and implemented a multi-national teachers' training program. This course has been translated into several languages and is used in educational institutions throughout the world. Their deep friendship and mutual commitment toward building a better world is the underlying inspiration of their continued work together. |
About the Artist

Mia LaBerge graduated from James Madison University with degrees in Art and Art Education. For six years she has taught art, both in public schools and privately. Mia has sold and exhibited her artwork in Virginia, New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. She has loved making art since she was a small child and always will. Mia's advice to the readers: "If you love something, do it!" Your heart will show you the way into your future." Mia currently lives in Virginia with her husband Terry and their teenage daughter Elaina, who is featured on the cover. |
